As I try to speak of Jesus, there are some who reject Him, but there are others who’ll receive Him. In any case, I’m free to do so without risking my life. But there are people whose testimony places them at great risk. Have a heart for them.
Our Lord Jesus went into the slave market of sin, bought us, and took us out and set us free. So Paul could then write, “Stand fast therefore in the liberty where Christ hath made us free.” Ah yes, when He said it’s finished, God’s law was satisfied, God’s holiness was vindicated, and God’s redemptive purpose was fulfilled.
Just think: God Almighty came down the stairways of the stars and lived that perfect life, and then went deliberately to an ignominious death of extreme, exquisite suffering on the cross.
I think it would be an admirable assignment for all of us to take on – to get serious about living out and obeying the truth, T-R-U-T-H, as found in what God says in His Word. The ultimate truth is found in the voice of the Savior.
The kingdom of God. What does it mean? It means that when God is in His rightful place, He will be king of your life. The second syllable of the word “kingdom” reminds us of the word dominion. He rules.
Jesus knows all about me, but He looks forward because He knows the future, to the time when through faith, I’m depending on the Holy Spirit and victory is mine.
If you’ll spend a little time with your Lord, and if you’ll listen to what He says to you through His Word and by the Holy Spirit, you’ll know something of His presence.
